How to clear Windows Security protection history

Open File Explorer (Windows Key + E) and Delete all files and folders from
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scans\History\Service

To see the ProgramData hidden folder from File Explorer in:

  • Windows 10:
    • Select View > Options > Change folder and search options;
    • Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
  • Windows 11:
    • Select View > Show > Hidden items.

Open Windows Security and navigate again to Protection history to see the results:
